Hello my dears! In the run up to Christmas I am sure most of you, have already found the best gifts for your beloved.. or not yet?? Portraits of random bus passengers

How many times, while on public transport, have you captured yourself gazing at the passenger sitting opposite you, contemplating over grabbing your smartphone and snap a picture of him/her? To me, it happened several times.
Talented photographer Nick Turpin, has made a collection of different portraits of anonymous people during their transit from work to home, and captured successfully so many emotions.

10 DIY ADVENT CALENDARS

As we are getting further to Christmas, I have been searching for the best ornaments to decorate our new house. Under this spirit, I have decided that this is a great opportunity for me to spend some creative time with my girls and design our advent calendar! As a kid I remember my father was bringing us chocolate filled advent calendars, which we adored! However, I prefer that my girls would not eat one chocolate for 25 days in a raw... instead, we could design an activity advent calendar and fill it with small "surprises", a nice idea to get the family doing things together during the holidays.
Therefore, I searched the web to find the perfect DIY advent calendar and here is some inspiration. Have a gander at, and help me to decide:) :

Family Trip to Gulpen & Maastricht, Limburg, Holland

Hello my dearest blog friends, and sorry for the short absence! It has been really hectic around here! This post is dedicated to our 3 days trip in the south Holland, specifically to Limburg, which was held last week. My mother in law paid us a visit, so we took advantage to travel a bit around. I warmly recommend you to visit this part of Holland.. it is so charmingly beautiful! It reminded me of my beloved Tuscany, probably because of the vineyards and the breathtaking hilly landscape (a bit strange for Netherlands), the long green valleys and the small farms around.

48 hours in Berlin

I couldn't help not publishing this post I started writing quite a while ago. In the beginning of September, we took advantage of my parents' visit, and we made a short escape with my husband (without kids!) to our utmost favourite german city (actually one of our best worldwide) : BERLIN.

Autumn wishlist: Midi Skirts

I have always been a supporter of midi skirts (I think most of my skirts and dresses come below my knee), probably because I am not so proud of my legs' structure, but certainly due to my big love for the 50s and 60s, and they remind me of all those female screen legends of the history of the cinema, as Audrey Hepburn,  V. Leigh or Rita Hayworth and how elegant they look in their midi skirts.
Therefore, I couldn't resist not to buy one more this fall since they are very popular (and probably a trend, or maybe from last year?!.).well, I am not a fashion expert, I have my own mixed easy going style, but I enjoy checking fashion blogs to keep me updated!, so I read somewhere that this year the rocking combo would be oversized knits and midi skirts! My height, only 1.64 , unfortunately does not permit me to wear them both at the same time, or I will look like a miserable potato, But here I am, trying to hit, a more appropriate to my dimensions, look!

Hallway wishlist

The entrance / hallway forms guests first impression, at the same time, it is the first room you hit when you enter your home.....So it must be inspiringly welcoming!
I am currently working on that part of our house, and here is what I am currently coveting:

Diet Mushroom Soup

I have always been a veggie lover, and mushrooms are definitely my favourite. As I have mentioned before, I am not a big cooking lover (well, I mostly hate the cleaning up after it), yet I love eating good, healthy and easy to prepare food. Therefore, I yearn for making amendments on the recipes I stumbled onto in the web by removing fatty ingredients, or even making up my own recipes!

5 minute DIY: wrapped hangers

In Germany the weather has been turning brisk and despite all my hopes for rainless days, I had to give in and clean out my closet to get ready for the chilly autumn days.  While doing so, I came accross lots of boring wire hangers amassed from the dry cleaners (Yes, I DO keep them, I know it is crazy!). Instead of throwing them away once and for all, I decided to make a super easy DIY project for a hanger makeover!

10 Reasons why having twins is great!

Last week on 17th, our beauties turned 2! Oh my Gosh, the time just flew away! It feels just like yesterday we were anxiously waiting their arrival in the delivery room! Sometimes when I look at them tears spring to my eyes thinking how tiny and fragile they were (2kg and 46 cm each) and into what extraordinary toddlers they have grown!

Coat rack on demand

I am on a mission to find the "right" coat rack, after my husband's repetitive request  for a hanger up on our hallway. I am in love with the design classic Eames "hang it all", but I find myself in difficulty to decide between the playful multicoloured hooks on a white wire frame or the sophisticated monochromatic walnut balls on a black steel version.. What is your pick?

Living room décor ideas

Hello my blog friends! It has been a long silent period since my last post, but moving from one country to a new one with two 2-years old twins is certainly not an easy task. Moving an entire home was a complex process and involved a lot of stress and physical work. Once all this was done, I had to deal with all the bureaucratic procedures in Germany but luckily things work faster than Greece or Italy. Afterwards our vacation started, first in our charming Israel and currently in our beloved Greece!

Stunning realistic drawings

Some days ago while browsing bloglovin', I stumbled upon a post about the geniously talented illustrator from Malaysia, Monica Lee. I couldn't help myself from not admiring her freaking photo realistic graphite drawings, so I thought I will share some of her fascinating pieces of work here with you.

Kitchen ideas- Got a favourite?

I am recently browsing blogs that tackle issues of interior design, and I must admit I found myself in a pickle that our home decoration is out of date! So, I came to the conclusion that we absolutely need to renovate it, since we are moving by the end of the May! Therefore, I thought it would be of a great help, to keep track of the ideas I loved, and is there any better solution than sharing them with you? And why not, asking for your opinion?

My first post is dedicated into kitchen rooms.. In our new house, we need to set up everything from scratch, including the kitchen. "Die Küche" is not very big because there is a seperate room for the dinning, so here are some of the ideas in the web that I liked..which one do you prefer?

Moving to Germany

It is official: We are moving out from Italy to Germany by the end of May! (therefore, I am not and I am not going to be so punctual in blogging..) The countdown has began! Next life destination: Lippstadt. It is a lovable mid-sized town in the north of Germany (Westphalia). It is also nicknamed “Venice of Westphalia", due to the many Lippe arms that criss-cross though the town centre...I was there last weekend to see some houses, and I found it is such a cute town! It seems very calm (if you compare it to Thessaloniki or Bologna) but a very family friendly town, full of parks, which is more than perfect for us!

Monday 24 March 2014

My most special town: Florence

Last Saturday, an almost summer day in the mid-March, we took a little trip to Florence, to see friends and spend some time in our most special town! Florence is a very important place to us! It is where we met, we fell in love, and afterwards got married (well, in fact we got married in Toscany but Florence is Toscany afterall!).

Green clay: The caddle of life

I am writting this post to share with you my new discovery ! Ever since my pregnancy I fret about all the nasty ingredients in conventional beauty products... Therefore, I started relying on natural and bio-organic material...at least whenever they live up to their promises! And I guarantee that the green clay works wonders!

Home tour: Davide's home

Welcome to the first home tour on my blog! I hope you will enjoy it!
The first stop is my friend Davide's very cozy and charming appartment, full of very interesting items, which give the feeling to touch and hold and turn his home so inviting!

Have a wonderful weekend!

It is already weekend! What are your plans? My husband is coming home for this weekend, so it is going to be a hectic Saturday! I am looking forward to it! We have some plans: to have fun with the girls, in our first class of "music together"! Have you heard about it? It is an international music and movement educational program, where children and their parents share songs, rhymes, instruments and dance all together! It should be a lot of fun! Has anybody tried it? At the evening we plan to meet up with friends, probably for the ritualistic italian "aperitivo" here (the main sala is decorated with frescoes) or here (historical and unconventional place in Bologna, where everyone can bring in food, from the local shops around, and indulge oneself a great selection of wines). These two places deserve to be on the bucket list if you visit Bologna!
What are your plans

Heart knows things that mind can't explain

Για ελληνικά εδώ
Happy March! It seems to me that February constantly flies right by, I honestly can't figure out why..Six Februaries ago, I took my car full of boxes and arrived to Italy.. Most people I knew, kept on telling me that I was literally out of my mind to leave behind all my life: my family, friends, home, job etc and start from scratch at the age of 28 (maybe too old?) in a different country, without job nor friends, stay with a guy that I knew for 3 years only on vacation. I remember I was haunted with fear but absolutely determined that this adventure, whatever the conclusion, will be full of experiences...After 6 years, I am the happiest person on earth to have made that decision! I must admit that these years were intense, with so much joyfulness, as well as difficulties and tears, and that positively changed me a lot! I took the risk and I won my bet!

Beetroot soup with feta

Για ελληνικά εδώ
A couple of days ago, while organic grocery shopping, I came across some fresh looking beetroots. I love beetroots and despite the fact that February is not their prime season, I could n't help not buying them! As soon as I came back home I prepared our dinner (for my 18months twin girls and me!) : Beetroot soup with feta! It was the first time for them and they literally adored it! Apart from being a very nutricious soup (more beetroot recipes here) , is absolutely delicious!

Does the weather affect your mood?

Για ελληνικά εδώ
The weather seems to be going absolutely crazy! Unsettled and wetter than normal made climate change the supreme topic of conversation also this year! Do you also feel sad as rain pours down, and happier during sunny days? There are so many intriguing studies regarding the connection between weather and our mood: According to this research, weather not only affects our mood but our memory as well! Particularly, when it is gray and gloomy, people are prone to remember things better, probably because a drop in our mood strengthens our memory. Nevertheless, when it is sunny, consequently we feel happier, our mind is less concentrated. Yet, during the hot days of summer, people are likely to feel grouncy or tired. Meanwhile according to this study, warmer temperatures lower anxiety and skepticism, while in humid environments we tend to be more lethargic.

How often do you say "I love you" ?

Yesterday night after I put the girls to sleep, as ordinarily I checked my favourite blogs, and I realised that it was Valentine's day! Alas, I missed it this year too! :) I was never a Valentine's day fan, I have to admit it. And yes, I am totally in love for the last 9 years! Even though I don't celebrate this day, I actually enjoy the red and pink atmosphere around! Besides, I discover many delicious recipes, wonderful outfits and amusing craft/gift ideas around the web!

Best walking shoes for travel

I am sure it occured to you to get baffled when it comes to what shoes to pack on a trip. The space is limited, whilst you crave to look stylish yet feel comfortable and ready to walk miles without having blisters or sore feet by the end of the day.

Here are my picks for lots of walking:

1. I swear by Converse "All stars". You always fill right in, they are a great alternative to trainers, and they will not make you look like a tourist.

I loved this platform model but for cheaper models see here

Do only things that make you happy!

Hey guys! how was your week? Mine, fine, hectic as always, trying to balance myself among work, physio, courses and the girls!

A couple of days ago, I read this article (old but well grounded) about 10 Easy Things That Will Make You Happier, which I found very intriguing. Indeed, I agree that hapiness is a very personal matter.. So, I am happy, but I think I was born happy!

What does your suitcase reveal about your character

Για ελληνικά εδώ
Some days ago I read this post featured on Huffingtonpost that piqued my interest: What does the packing say about your personality? Once more I realised that alas I, myself am a split personality! :) Everyone has his own prefered method when it comes to packing. There is the "over packer" or "just in case" packer (the one who could pack the entire wardarobe to be prepared for any eventuality), the "minimalist" (the one who efficiently organizes and packs the essentials in a carry on suitcase- I envy those folks!), the "worrier" (the one who packs a week before the trip), the "last minute" packer (either chaotic or organized), the "roller" (who knows the science of rolling clothes to save extra space), the "i dont care" packer, the backpacker...

I am totally not that kind of person, so all advice is enthusiastically appreciated!

New Year's Resolution Ideas- Στόχοι για την νέα χρονιά

Για ελληνικά εδώ
First of all I want to wish you all a wonderful year 2014! I am sincerely so glad that 2013 came to an end, I wish I could say it was a nice year but alas it was not. I must admit it was rather harsh on me. I can't decide which of the following has been the most difficult moment of 2013: My Zoe ingested a hairclip when she was 10 months and was taken to the operating room for endoscopic removal of it, my husband has been working in a different country for the last 6 months or me, having my leg broken (compound fracture, 3 operations and  and 3 months in a cast/brace shoe)...Well, I try to see it as a character development opportunity afterall!:) Therefore, I am ready to tackle the new year! I feel it in my bones that 2014 will be a changing year and moving forward!!!
As each year, I did make New Year's resolutions. I am very good in compiling the list. In fact, I literally copy and paste my last year's resolutions, at least my 5 top ones- promising myself to be more loving, less messy, more creative, more active, more money saver..But every year I realize how hard is to keep up with them, set up good habits and break the bad ones. The web is full with articles about resolution ideas, how  to effectively keep them or reasons to abbandon them. I am not sure if it is a waste of time or whatever, but I really enjoy challenging myself. Moreover, there are relevant apps to download in order to keep track with the resolution list.
