Inside a downtown Athens Loft

Hello and have a nice month! Have I told you how much I enjoy Home tours? Today I decided to post an old project, into which I ran accidentally yesterday (dated on 2012), yet very genuine, concerning a renovation of an abandoned neoclassical building in Athens. Natalia Kokosalaki was brought on to successfully renovate this space according to her client' requirements.

I envy those talented folks that have this amazing perception of space, and manage to create a cozy space by combining contradictory elements which yet work harmoniously together giving the viewer a satisfying sense of belonging.

Enjoy!

New Years Resolutions 2015

Hello my dearest e-friends! I wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2015! 2014 was overall a good year, December apart, but we are not here to cry over split milk, yet to write about good and positive things and move on! So here I am, trying to put down only now (alas!) my resolutions for 2015! I glanced at my last New Years Resolutions, and guess what??

Portraits of random bus passengers

How many times, while on public transport, have you captured yourself gazing at the passenger sitting opposite you, contemplating over grabbing your smartphone and snap a picture of him/her? To me, it happened several times.
Talented photographer Nick Turpin, has made a collection of different portraits of anonymous people during their transit from work to home, and captured successfully so many emotions.

10 DIY ADVENT CALENDARS

As we are getting further to Christmas, I have been searching for the best ornaments to decorate our new house. Under this spirit, I have decided that this is a great opportunity for me to spend some creative time with my girls and design our advent calendar! As a kid I remember my father was bringing us chocolate filled advent calendars, which we adored! However, I prefer that my girls would not eat one chocolate for 25 days in a raw... instead, we could design an activity advent calendar and fill it with small "surprises", a nice idea to get the family doing things together during the holidays.
Therefore, I searched the web to find the perfect DIY advent calendar and here is some inspiration. Have a gander at, and help me to decide:) :

Family Trip to Gulpen & Maastricht, Limburg, Holland

Hello my dearest blog friends, and sorry for the short absence! It has been really hectic around here! This post is dedicated to our 3 days trip in the south Holland, specifically to Limburg, which was held last week. My mother in law paid us a visit, so we took advantage to travel a bit around. I warmly recommend you to visit this part of Holland.. it is so charmingly beautiful! It reminded me of my beloved Tuscany, probably because of the vineyards and the breathtaking hilly landscape (a bit strange for Netherlands), the long green valleys and the small farms around.

48 hours in Berlin

I couldn't help not publishing this post I started writing quite a while ago. In the beginning of September, we took advantage of my parents' visit, and we made a short escape with my husband (without kids!) to our utmost favourite german city (actually one of our best worldwide) : BERLIN.

Autumn wishlist: Midi Skirts

I have always been a supporter of midi skirts (I think most of my skirts and dresses come below my knee), probably because I am not so proud of my legs' structure, but certainly due to my big love for the 50s and 60s, and they remind me of all those female screen legends of the history of the cinema, as Audrey Hepburn,  V. Leigh or Rita Hayworth and how elegant they look in their midi skirts.
Therefore, I couldn't resist not to buy one more this fall since they are very popular (and probably a trend, or maybe from last year?!.).well, I am not a fashion expert, I have my own mixed easy going style, but I enjoy checking fashion blogs to keep me updated!, so I read somewhere that this year the rocking combo would be oversized knits and midi skirts! My height, only 1.64 , unfortunately does not permit me to wear them both at the same time, or I will look like a miserable potato, But here I am, trying to hit, a more appropriate to my dimensions, look!

Hallway wishlist

The entrance / hallway forms guests first impression, at the same time, it is the first room you hit when you enter your home.....So it must be inspiringly welcoming!
I am currently working on that part of our house, and here is what I am currently coveting:

Diet Mushroom Soup

I have always been a veggie lover, and mushrooms are definitely my favourite. As I have mentioned before, I am not a big cooking lover (well, I mostly hate the cleaning up after it), yet I love eating good, healthy and easy to prepare food. Therefore, I yearn for making amendments on the recipes I stumbled onto in the web by removing fatty ingredients, or even making up my own recipes!

5 minute DIY: wrapped hangers

In Germany the weather has been turning brisk and despite all my hopes for rainless days, I had to give in and clean out my closet to get ready for the chilly autumn days.  While doing so, I came accross lots of boring wire hangers amassed from the dry cleaners (Yes, I DO keep them, I know it is crazy!). Instead of throwing them away once and for all, I decided to make a super easy DIY project for a hanger makeover!

10 Reasons why having twins is great!

Last week on 17th, our beauties turned 2! Oh my Gosh, the time just flew away! It feels just like yesterday we were anxiously waiting their arrival in the delivery room! Sometimes when I look at them tears spring to my eyes thinking how tiny and fragile they were (2kg and 46 cm each) and into what extraordinary toddlers they have grown!

Coat rack on demand

I am on a mission to find the "right" coat rack, after my husband's repetitive request  for a hanger up on our hallway. I am in love with the design classic Eames "hang it all", but I find myself in difficulty to decide between the playful multicoloured hooks on a white wire frame or the sophisticated monochromatic walnut balls on a black steel version.. What is your pick?

Living room décor ideas

Hello my blog friends! It has been a long silent period since my last post, but moving from one country to a new one with two 2-years old twins is certainly not an easy task. Moving an entire home was a complex process and involved a lot of stress and physical work. Once all this was done, I had to deal with all the bureaucratic procedures in Germany but luckily things work faster than Greece or Italy. Afterwards our vacation started, first in our charming Israel and currently in our beloved Greece!

Stunning realistic drawings

Some days ago while browsing bloglovin', I stumbled upon a post about the geniously talented illustrator from Malaysia, Monica Lee. I couldn't help myself from not admiring her freaking photo realistic graphite drawings, so I thought I will share some of her fascinating pieces of work here with you.

Kitchen ideas- Got a favourite?

I am recently browsing blogs that tackle issues of interior design, and I must admit I found myself in a pickle that our home decoration is out of date! So, I came to the conclusion that we absolutely need to renovate it, since we are moving by the end of the May! Therefore, I thought it would be of a great help, to keep track of the ideas I loved, and is there any better solution than sharing them with you? And why not, asking for your opinion?

My first post is dedicated into kitchen rooms.. In our new house, we need to set up everything from scratch, including the kitchen. "Die Küche" is not very big because there is a seperate room for the dinning, so here are some of the ideas in the web that I liked..which one do you prefer?

Moving to Germany

It is official: We are moving out from Italy to Germany by the end of May! (therefore, I am not and I am not going to be so punctual in blogging..) The countdown has began! Next life destination: Lippstadt. It is a lovable mid-sized town in the north of Germany (Westphalia). It is also nicknamed “Venice of Westphalia", due to the many Lippe arms that criss-cross though the town centre...I was there last weekend to see some houses, and I found it is such a cute town! It seems very calm (if you compare it to Thessaloniki or Bologna) but a very family friendly town, full of parks, which is more than perfect for us!

My most special town: Florence

Last Saturday, an almost summer day in the mid-March, we took a little trip to Florence, to see friends and spend some time in our most special town! Florence is a very important place to us! It is where we met, we fell in love, and afterwards got married (well, in fact we got married in Toscany but Florence is Toscany afterall!).

Green clay: The caddle of life

I am writting this post to share with you my new discovery ! Ever since my pregnancy I fret about all the nasty ingredients in conventional beauty products... Therefore, I started relying on natural and bio-organic material...at least whenever they live up to their promises! And I guarantee that the green clay works wonders!

Home tour: Davide's home

Welcome to the first home tour on my blog! I hope you will enjoy it!
The first stop is my friend Davide's very cozy and charming appartment, full of very interesting items, which give the feeling to touch and hold and turn his home so inviting!
